It’s Been a Stretch. Literally.

Our Journey?

We started with Activewear and Swimwearβ€”because let’s be honest, those categories were screaming for better fits and less... meh. But as we dug deeper, the real pain point came into focus:

Shapewear that was supposed to support us... didn’t.

It squeezed, pinched, rolled, rode upβ€”and worse, it tried to make us all fit into the same mold. We began building a brand that listenedβ€”to bodies, to people, to stories.

Delhi, 2019. One tape measure. One big idea.

πŸ’‘ How It All Began

In a world of off-the-rack everything, our founder Ishita Gupta asked a simple question:
Why is no one custom-making shapewear in India?

Armed with design degrees from NIFT Delhi and FIT New York, plus a deep love for body-positive fashion, Ishita started The Active Story in her Delhi studio. No more squeezing into generic sizes. No more shapewear that flattens instead of fits.

🎯 We began with a focus on activewear and swimwearβ€”intimate, personal categories that deserved better tailoring. Naturally, our journey led to Shapewear.

What’s The Active Story, really?

It’s a little bit fashion, a little bit rebellion, and a whole lot of empathy stitched into fabric.

We believe that Shapewear shouldn’t flatten your curvesβ€”or your confidence. It should work with you, not against you. It should celebrate softness, stretch with strength, and fit like it knows you.

That’s why everything we do starts with real storiesβ€”from women, from friends, from fittings that went hilariously wrong and breakthroughs that felt just right.

The People Behind the Panels

We’re a small (and slightly chaotic) team based in Delhiβ€”design nerds, fit fanatics, sewing experts, coffee drinkers, and snack hoardersβ€”who believe that fashion should be radically personal.

We laugh a lot. We unlearn a lot. And we’ve cried (just once) over a broken sewing machine.

But every single day, we show up with one goal:

To make you feel like your body is not just enoughβ€”it’s worth designing around.
